Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has revealed that defender Stephen Welsh picked up a slight "niggle" during the winter training camp in Portugal.

The Hoops academy graduate also suffered a head knock during the Sydney Super Cup match against Everton.

The Parkhead manager addressed the issue during his pre-match press conference ahead of his side's trip to Pittodrie to face Aberdeen.

"In terms of absences, obviously James McCarthy who did his hamstring before the break and then Stephen Welsh picked up a little bit of a niggle on the last day of our camp in Portugal.

"He will miss a couple of weeks. I think aside from that everyone else is good."

Meanwhile, before his training duties this morning the Hoops manager was more of a local hero as he helped stranded drivers who were stuck in the snow in Glasgow.

A picture of Postecoglou heading out to help push a car stuck in the snow was widely shared on social media today.

And an eye-witness who was alongside Postecoglou helping another driver revealed the Celtic boss was straight out of his car to assist in the frosty conditions.

The gentleman was left "starstruck" as he worked alongside Postecoglou to get a car moving in the snow - and revealed a "team-talk" from the manager worked a treat.
