Celtic moved six points clear of their rivals Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with a 2-1 win at Ibrox.

Goals from Tom Rogic and Cameron Carter-Vickers handed Ange Postecoglou's men a vital league win over Giovanni Van Bronckhorst's men.

Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey had put Rangers ahead inside three minutes but Rogic equalised four minutes later and on-loan Tottenham defender and USA internationalist Carter-Vickers scored what proved to be the winner on 43 minutes.

It is a crucial win for Postecoglou's side who placed one hand on the league trophy with six games left in the campaign.

Here is how some of the pundits reacted to the crucial league win for Postecoglou's side with former Celtic defender Alan Stubbs joining ex-Rangers hitman Kris Boyd by declaring the Scottish Premiership title race all over.

Former Celtic hitman Chris Sutton took to Twitter and tweeted: "Ange Balls Celtic deserved that. Nothing won yet. Daizen Maeda is a one-man closing down machine. Rogic really is a magician. Carter Vickers and Starfelt immense."

Bulgarian midfielder from the Martin O'Neill era Stiliyan Petrov who watched the game from the Sky Sports studios also tweeted: "Huge step towards the trophy for Celtic today.

"Nervous game for both teams but Celtic were clinical at the right moments of the game. Defended like lions… Maeda is still pressing I think."

His one-time strike partner John Hartson also took to social media and tweeted: "That is one phenomenal win for Celtic on a day when they knew what was at stake.

“If they lose, Rangers firmly back in the title race, if they win Celtic are in the driving seat.

“It’s theirs to lose. The title is Celtic’s to lose. That’s six points, 14 goals better.

“Seven points then, with six game to play. It’s not over but it’s a huge win in terms of Celtic clawing the title back.”

Ex-Celtic goalkeeper Pat Bonner said: "I think Joe Hart has added something to the dressing room.

"To lose someone like Scott Brown and then have someone like him step up because it doesn't have to be a captain, is great."

Stubbs was another who issued his views via social media and the Scouser went one stage further than most by claiming that the title was already in the bag for the men from Glasgow's East End.

Stubbsy tweeted this message: "Celtic great defensive performance today and very resilient!! Title is wrapped up now.

"The reign of Rangers was very short-lived but Celtic have shown what champions do!"

Meanwhile former club skipper Scott Brown took to the drink as he toasted Celtic's 2-1 success over Rangers on derby day with a pint of Tennent's.

Sharing a picture of his beverage he wrote on his Instagram story: "Thanks lads, enjoyed that one I did."
