Joe Hart: The Celtic goalkeeper’s first involvement was picking the ball out of his net. Admittedly, Hart did get a hand to Aaron Ramsey’s opener but it wasn’t quite enough to stop it. His usual willingness to play out from the back – and the fear-inducing touches that entails – was on display while he did well not to be put off after the restart despite being targeted by pieces of broken bottle being thrown around his goalmouth. A strong left-handed save to deny Fashion Sakala should not be overlooked. 7

Josip Juranovic: A poor start from the Croatian- when he was taken out the game by Calvin Bassey’s ball through to Ryan Kent in the build-up to Ramsey’s third-minute opener – stood in stark contrast to his imperious display in the last derby. He grew into the game after that, though, including playing a wonderful defence-splitting pass to send Maeda through in the 36th minute. Juranovic was forced over to left-back when Taylor suffered an injury and saw out the game there in relative comfort. 6

Cameron Carter-Vickers: Juranovic looked to Carter-Vickers’ positioning in the aftermath of the opener but in truth it seemed the American hadn't much to answer for. Carter-Vickers has shown his propensity for playing the Postecoglou way since arriving but at Ibrox he was perfectly fine with the more physical side as well against a sturdy Kemar Roofe. The American tops our Power Rankings going into this last block of matches and, with a goal in Govan now on his CV too, it’s hard to see him being displaced. 8

Carl Starfelt: The big Swede kept it simple early on and matured as the game elapsed. It was his aerial win at Jota’s set-piece that led to Carter-Vickers making it 2-1 – not the first time he has played an integral role in such a manner and not gotten an assist for his work. Likewise, it was often Starfelt called upon to deal with Rangers’ attempts at utilising their own set-pieces at the other end, a challenge he stood up to manfully. 8

Greg Taylor: Started off by having to reassure Starfelt his decision to put the ball out of play was OK and then got caught goal-side for an Aribo chance which, admittedly, he did well to recover possession from. The Scotland international continued to plug away with his inverted duties as well as providing continual options going forward and faring well in his attempts combat Aribo’s – and then, after a tactical switch, Ramsey’s – movement in the half-spaces. A perfectly-timed tackle to spoil a Kent chance early in the second half reinforced his strong overall display. 8

Callum McGregor: The captain noticed his team-mates looking a tad overwhelmed in the opening exchanges and simply chose to remind them all who they are and what they’re about. He won’t register an assist for it but it was his forceful forward run that led directly to Tom Rogic’s equaliser and eased Celtic’s early nerves. Aside from that he made his usual all-action, rarely-flustered contribution - even if the midfield did have some trouble out of possession at times - and ensured Postecoglou’s mantra of ‘resilience through playing our football’ was once again personified by the man in the mask. 8

Reo Hatate: It was always going to be a struggle for Hatate to impose himself on this game in the manner he did February’s but he did have an impact in the opener, his shot spilled by McGregor for Rogic to slam home. Hatate’s day ended in the 61st minute, by which point he looked absolutely gassed. 6

Tom Rogic: The Australian recovered from the injury that kept him out of international duty to take his place in the starting XI and justified Postecoglou’s decision with the leveller after seven minutes. Rogic had a good chance to add a second midway through the first half but blazed over, while a third opportunity in the 36th minute was blocked by Goldson. Overall the 28-year-old was in fine attacking form despite the missed chances and his 61-minute run-out supported the manager’s decision to play him from the start. 7

Jota: Jota started slow but played a part in the build-up to the equaliser and put in a dangerous cross in the 17th minute and brought his usual combination of trickery and determination to proceedings. While never quite reaching his apex game, the Portuguese was nonetheless a constant outlet option. He was subbed off for Abada in the last 20 minutes. 6

Giorgos Giakoumakis: It was a quiet opening half for the in-form Greek, who was largely starved of service until Jota’s cross allowed him a meagre header on goal in the 38th minute. The effort off-the-ball was there as ever – and his mere presence certainly seemed to rile the Rangers players somewhat – but he wasn’t quite up to the standards he has set himself recently. 6

Daizen Maeda: Started on the left and gave Tavernier a few early warnings that he would get no time on the ball. That persistence transferred to the right flank when he and Jota – as they did against County – switched roles. Indeed, he could have had a penalty when Allan McGregor’s trailing leg brought him down after successfully prodding the ball past the Gers custodian but referee Willie Collum waved it away. Maeda’s competitive nature lends itself to making an impact on derby days and whether it was on either wing or drifting inside, the Rangers defence weren’t quite sure how to shackle the Japan international all afternoon. 8

Substitutes

Nir Bitton (for Reo Hatate, 61): The experienced midfielder arrived on the scene with just less than half an hour remaining and slotted in at the base of midfield. 6

Matt O’Riley (for Tom Rogic, 61): Fresh from his Denmark Under-21s debut, O’Riley got his chance to torment Rangers again from the bench but was forced off injured just 14 minutes later.

Anthony Ralston (for Greg Taylor, 71): Came on for Taylor to play his third Glasgow Derby – all, intriguingly, at Ibrox – and offered his typical endeavour down the right. 6

Liel Abada (for Jota, 76): The Israeli’s first touch was latching on to Giakoumakis’s great through ball about 20 seconds after coming on, but his second was unfortunately a wayward right-footed shot. He had a second chance to make it 3-1 when the ball fell to him in the middle of the box in the 81st minute but was denied by a McGregor save. 6

David Turnbull (for Matt O’Riley, 76): Given 15 minutes as he stepped up his return from injury by replacing the injured O’Riley. 4
