Well, this final Europa League group G match against Real Betis is the definition of a dead rubber.

Only pride is at stake for the Aussie's side as they look for some revenge on a La Liga side that defeated them 4-3 in Spain back in September.

At least Celtic are safe in the knowledge that qualification for the inaugural Europa Conference League competition has been assured.

Will Ange be tempted to mix it up and field a weakened side with Motherwell in the Premiership to come on Sunday?

Ange Postecoglou doesn't do dead rubbers, but it is unlikely that he will not look at the bigger picture as he sends out a team against Real Betis as Celtic conclude their Europa League campaign.

The news that Jota is out for the next few weeks is a bitter disappointment given the influence the winger has had on Celtic in recent months.

Given the run of games this month, including next weekend's League Cup final against Hibs at Hampden, it would seem remiss to risk further injury problems by fielding players unnecessarily for the game against Betis when Celtic already know they cannot progress out of the group.

It is an ideal opportunity to offer fringe players a start and get time into their legs while offering respite to players who are repeatedly asked to clock up the miles.

Hybrid has been the buzzword of the week and I think Ange will rest several first-team key players for this one.

That's why the likes of Joe Hart, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Tom Rogic, Callum McGregor, David Turnbull and Kyogo will all be rested. Scott Bain will replace Hart in between the sticks and I can see young Liam Scales coming in at left-back after his impressive cameo display and goal in the 3-0 Scottish Premiership win over Dundee United at Tannadice on Sunday.

In the midfield, I fully expect the usual trio to drop out and Nir Bitton, James McCarthy and Ismalia Soro to come in and get much-needed game time in their place.

In attack, with Jota now confirmed as missing the League Cup final against Hibernian later this month I believe Ange will continue to give Mikey Johnston the chance to sharpen his skills and Israeli wide man Liel Abada will come back into the starting fold on the right-wing. There will also be a rare outing for Albian Ajeti to see if he can start to repay the faith the club showed in him when they paid £5m for his services.

Whilst Ange will not want to take a severe beating that might dent the confidence levels but in terms of priorities even he has to concede that this match ranks a distant second to the bread and butter of league business against Motherwell at the weekend.

Tony's team: Bain, Juranovic, Starfelt, Welsh, Scales, McCarthy, Soro, Bitton, Abada, Ajeti, Johnston.
