Ange Postecoglou is set to ignite a £20million transfer scramble for Celtic star Kyogo this summer, according to a report.

The new Tottenham boss is said to be keen to take the Japanese star to North London with him.

The Australian was officially announced as the new Spurs manager yesterday, although will start the job on July 1.

He left Glasgow after just two years, where he enjoyed immense success with Celtic, winning five trophies out of six.

It remains to be seen whether John Kennedy, Gavin Strachan, and Gregg Wallace join him on his new venture.

But according to the Scottish Sun, Kyogo is a prime target for the Aussie.

They say it's widely expected that Postecoglou will launch a huge bid for the Hoops talisman in the coming weeks.

And, in turn, this could spark a transfer tussle across the continent, with several European clubs all tracking him.

It's reported that Lazio have scouted him, while French and Spanish sides have also joined a host of English top-flight clubs in casting their eye over Scotland's top goalscorer.

Kyogo joined Celts from Vissel Kobe for £4.6m in July 2021.

It's claimed he would now be worth five times as much after 54 goals in 83 appearances.

He has two years left on his current deal, and Parkhead chiefs are under no pressure to sell.

The player himself recently insisted he's happy in Glasgow, however, aged 29, he will know his timeframe to make the jump into the top five leagues in Europe is only a short window.

The report claims with mentor Postecoglou quitting for Spurs, the chances of Kyogo signing an extension at the Hoops have decreased.

It's said that with Spurs' huge budget, they could land Kyogo for £20million and it would be regarded as a bargain.
