Joe Hart - His contribution to this game was small but so, so important in the grand scheme of things. A spectator for much of the first half, Hart had little to deal with, apart from picking the ball out of his own net from Blair Spittal’s stunning strike on the stroke of half-time. In the second half – after Adam Idah’s equaliser – he produced a stunning save from Jack Vale to keep the game level, which would turn out to be massive in the way the game transpired. From a man who announced his retirement this week, he showed he still has a lot of life left in his hands and feet. A big performance once again. 8

Alistair Johnston - Donning a Zorro-esque mask on his return from injury, Johnston was solid enough without being anywhere near spectacular. Not the worst culprit at the back, he tried to make things happen from the right flank, albeit to little success in the first half. He unmasked after the concession of the first goal and tried to drive the team on, and in doing so managed to provide the assist to Idah’s last-gasp header. Happy to have him back, as he will be a major factor in Celtic’s pursuit of success this campaign. 6

Maik Nawrocki - A tough first 45 for the big man, who struggled alongside his defensive partner Liam Scales. His passing was satisfactory, though he was part of a back-line that was struggling with Theo Bair’s physicality and drive for the home side. Though not as noticeably off-form as Scales, Nawrocki again failed to fully convince and was replaced by Cameron Carter-Vickers with half an hour to go. He’ll need to step up if he wants to make that position his own. 5

Liam Scales - His worst 45 minutes in a Celtic shirt – at least post-Postecoglou – Scales had a nightmare in the first half for Brendan Rodgers’ side. Allowing the ball to get in behind his position at least three times in the opening half, he struggled to deal with Bair’s presence alongside Nawrocki. Stabilised in the restart, though always looked like he had a mistake in him. Carter-Vickers’ inclusion helped him, but he must improve if he is to stay in the starting line-up. 4

Greg Taylor – A tale of two halves for Celtic’s number three, Taylor – like Scales – had a shocker in the first half. He would have the side’s first opportunity fall to him, but his effort was tame and straight at Liam Kelly. Awry passing was the theme of Taylor’s opening 45 minutes of play, though after the restart he provided Idah with his first goal of the day thanks to a scintillating cross into the Irishman’s path. A mixed game, but Taylor is a far better option than Bernabei, who was nowhere near the team today. He stepped up when it was required. 6

Tomoki Iwata – A player that the supporters have taken to, they shouted their displeasure when the holding midfielder was taken off in the second half. They had good reason, as Iwata was working his way into good form for the latter stages of the contest. Not a stylish player, he just gets on with business and allows for his other midfielders to push forward.  Good on the ball and a hard worker without it, Iwata should retain his place in the team, despite their struggles this afternoon. Calm, composed and trustworthy, Iwata is a safe pair of feet for Celtic to rely on. 6

Callum McGregor – Not a great game by the captain’s standards, McGregor – like almost every other player – had a first-half stinker. Though his influence grew as the game went on, you get the feeling that he may need to up his game by three or four levels from now until the end of the season. These sub-par showings have to stop if Celtic are going to win the league this season, as McGregor leads from the front. Had a good ending to the game, but his start still loomed large. Must improve. 5

Nicolas Kuhn – Worrying signs from the German, judging by this performance. A passenger, Kuhn offered nothing on the wing for Celtic from start to finish. For £3 million, you would and should expect so much more from a talented player like he is, yet he’s not showing it whatsoever at the moment. Where is that electrifying pace that we were told about before his arrival? Yang Hyun-jun did more in his cameo than Kuhn managed in his whole starting appearance. Really poor. 3

Matt O’Riley – His last 20 minutes have saved him from a far-poorer score concerning these ratings. Although his level did improve in the second half, his first was dreadful by the Dane’s high standards. Like Kuhn, he was a passenger for the majority of proceedings, with a real lack of impact on proceedings as a whole. He rallied towards the end and contributed to the effort of the team, but O’Riley has to improve if Celtic have any aspirations of winning this league. A response to this sub-par performance MUST be shown on Wednesday night! 5

Daizen Maeda – As I’ve said before, you take the rough with the smooth concerning Maeda. A whole lot of rough today, as Maeda sometimes cut about like an individual who had never played football before. Effort and drive are never the issue with the wide man, though his actual footballing ability leaves a lot to be desired at the best of times. Should have scored a double in the second half, though his wastefulness cost him in the end. One of his poorer games as a Celtic player today. 5

Kyogo Furuhashi – Starved of any real service from his teammates, the striker had precious little to work with in the opening 45, apart from a snapshot which was hit right at Liam Kelly. Apart from a VAR shout for a penalty, the striker was anonymous for his time on the park. Was hooked off at half-time, to be replaced by the hero on the day in Idah, who lit up the second half with his drive and determination, as well as goals. Another day to forget for Kyogo. 5

Subs:

Adam Idah - What. A. Contribution. Talk about taking your chance – again! Not hanging around, the imposing striker leapt onto a delightful Taylor cross which left Kelly with no chance, before coolly dispatching a Johnston delivery for the winner. Make that four goals and an assist in just five games, some going from the Irishman. Keen to cause havoc, Idah should be the first name on the teamsheet on Wednesday, regardless of Kyogo or not. The only negative is there’s no option to buy on his contract, which may increase his price come the end of the season. Idah is clearly a man for the big occasions, and Celtic will need more of that from him if they are to be successful. Massive moments from the young striker. 9

Cameron Carter-Vickers – A welcome return to proceedings for Celtic’s top defender, the American did not put a foot wrong in the game whatsoever. He even seemed to calm down Scales, who was having a stinker until he came on with 30 minutes to go. 90 minutes on Wednesday will do him the world of good. Big return. 6

Yang Hyun-jun – Yang may have made himself a starter on Wednesday with a positive showing off of the bench. Direct and pacey, the South Korean has a lot of talent but lacks consistency at this level as a whole. If he can keep his levels up – as well as contributing assists like he did today – then he may be a regular feature from this point onwards. Lovely pass to Luis Palma, as his assist sealed the game for Rodgers’ side. Promising. 7

Paulo Bernardo – Was brought on with 15 or so minutes to go and did very little. More of a cameo than others today, he will have to bide his time for his next chance from the off. Still, was bright in patches. 4

Luis Palma – His only contribution was a late goal to seal the three points. Not a bad 10 minutes for the winger, who needs to take confidence from being in the right place at the right time. Hopefully, he can build on this. 5
