Joe Hart: The Celtic number one did not have a lot to do in the opening half. However, he was beaten by James Tavernier's fantastic free kick which made it 1-1 but it looked like he could have moved his feet a bit quicker as it was a couple of yards in from the post. He made a cracking stop from Morelos's snap shot as he palmed the ball around the upright. 7

Alistair Johnston: What a ball the Canadian international floated into Kyogo Furuhashi slammed home but the joy was short-lived as the offside flag rightfully went up. He got the benefit of the doubt when Alfredo Morelos nudged him and outmuscled him as he went down as the Rangers striker bundled into the net. His defending was absolutely superb in only his 15th game for the club. He owned Ryan Kent and what a sliding challenge he made on Malik Tillman. 8

Cameron Carter-Vickers: He knocked a poor blind pass back to Joe Hart in the opening exchanges which was expertly mopped up by Carl Starfelt as the goalkeeper rushed out of his box. The American picked up a yellow card after he failed to nick the ball away from Alfredo Morelos after eight minutes. Like Mooy his performance was strewn with a number of misplaced passes. 7

Carl Starfelt: The Swedish defender cleared the early danger after Carter-Vickers' early error and he was in a real tussle with Morelos but coped with him admirably well. He was the more assured of the central defensive pairing in this encounter. 7

Greg Taylor: He shook off any dead leg injury doubts to return to the first team and Alexandro Bernabei had to be content with a place on the bench. The left-back showed superb movement for the opening goal as he linked the play excellently with O'Riley and was more like a number 10 for the move that led to Kyogo's goal. 8

Callum McGregor: "A game at home against a big opponent, we want to go and send a message, of course, we do. That’s the nature of competitive sport: you want to be the winner and you want to be dominant, that’s the way we’re all wired." The skipper broke forward excellently and released Jota whose effort was saved well by Allan McGregor. He was shown a yellow card for raising his arms to Nicolas Raskin. He rallied his troops and was outstanding in the engine room. 8

Aaron Mooy: Daddy Cool made a supposed welcome return to the Hoops side after missing the outing in Dingwall against Ross County last weekend. The Aussie made a nervy start by gifting Rangers possession twice inside 90 seconds and looked well off it in the first 15 minutes. He was uncharacteristically sluggish and his distribution was poor in the opening period. He received a yellow card when he took a poor touch after being robbed by Morelos and he was unsurprisingly replaced by Iwata just after the hour mark. 5

Celtic Way:

Matt O'Riley: It was a big call of faith from Ange Postecoglou to include the Danish under-21 international in the starting lineup at the expense of Tomoki Iwata. He repaid his manager's faith when he fired the ball low into the area where he knew where Kyogo would be and the attacker did the rest to fire his side ahead. He blotted his copybook though when he was booked for a sliding challenge on the edge of the box which James Tavernier profited from by scoring the equaliser. His influence grew as the contest wore on. 7

Jota: The superstar from Portugal was treated to a rendition of the 'Jota on the Wing' song prior to kick-off and it was he who cut inside and hammered in the first effort strike at goal that was beaten away by McGregor and he tested the goalkeeper's hands again with a similar swerving drive. He dragged a second-half effort wide of the post. He latched on to John Souttar's mistake to make it 3-1 with a sublime right-foot touch and left-foot finish. 8

Kyogo Furuhashi: Kyogo had notched an impressive three goals in his last two games against Rangers and he made it four in 27 minutes. The striker latched on to Matt O'Riley's cutback and took a trademark touch and swivelled in the box before cracking home a fantastic opener. His movement always caused the Rangers rearguard problems. He pounced to slot home expertly after hesitation by Ben Davies and he confidently rammed into the net to make it 2-1 and claim his 28th goal of the season in the process. 9

Daizen Maeda: The winger occupied James Tavernier for the most part and stuck to his defensive chores well enough but despite having the run on his marker on lots of occasions he was unable to create much in the final third in an attacking sense. 6

David Turnbull (Furuhashi 86): Handed the last few minutes as a cameo to see out the win.

Alexandro Bernabei (Maeda 86): Given closing minutes and missed an absolute sitter when clean through on goal.
