Joe Hart: The Celtic shot-stopper gathered easily from Lewis Strapp who with better contact would have scored the opening goal inside eight minutes. He was rarely seen throughout the whole contest once the Hoops got to grips with the proceedings. 7

Alistair Johnston: "I can put myself in Morton’s shoes I was living in those shoes just a few weeks ago with Canada [at the World Cup] when we were going into every single fight as the real underdog, but at the same time you have that confidence within the group that everything is possible if you believe in it." The words of the Canadian full-back prior to kick-off in this one and with Josip Juranovic heading off to pastures new he now has a real chance to nail down a regular starting berth. He put in a goal-saving challenge at one point in the first half. He is certainly talking the talk off the park but also walking the walk on the field. He couldn't get the ball out of his feet quick enough to net his first Celtic goal. 8

Carl Starfelt: Looks very comfortable at right centre-back and gets a bad rap at times from his critics which is totally unjustified. He wasn't put under too much pressure by the Greenock attack but he dealt with all that he needed to with real aplomb. 8

Yuki Kobayashi: Ange Postecoglou handed the natural left-sided central defender a second successive outing after the man from Japan enjoyed an impressive home debut in the 4-0 Scottish Premiership victory over St Mirren. Like Starfelt, he was not put under any real pressure and sterner tests await but he can be pleased enough with his contribution in the past two matches. 8

Alexandro Bernabei: The Argentine full-back can be impetuous in his thinking at times, especially in terms of his crossing and passing. He does take up some decent positions in the final third but needs to work on his distribution big time if he is to make the most of the opportunity and enjoy an extended run in the side. He has youth on his side and it will come. 6

Callum McGregor: He flashed in an early drive that whistled inches wide of the target. He hammered another over the top five minutes before the interval. The skipper still dictates the tempo that the team play at and he rightly made way for new signing Tomoki Iwata at the break for a well-earned rest. 6

Aaron Mooy: Restored to the starting line-up today in place of Matt O'Riley. He was presented with a golden opportunity from the penalty spot in the 18th minute and the Aussie expertly and confidently rammed home to make it two out of two from Celtic career spot-kicks. He dictated play and picked up some wonderful positions at the edge of the box and even helped himself to a second goal to make it 5-0 with five minutes left on the clock. He is a real fit in this Hoops team under Ange Postecoglou. 9

Celtic Way:

David Turnbull: A rare start for 'The Bull' in midfield and recovered from a sluggish start to link the play very well from middle to front. He hit a trademark daisycutter when he passed a beauty into the bottom corner from 20 yards to make it 3-0. It was a brilliant and composed finish from a very capable player who made it two in his last two games. He was denied a second goal by Brian Schwake's diving save. 7

Liel Abada: He embarked on an early solo run that almost brought about the opening goal but was thwarted by the arm of Efe Ambrose which VAR reviewed and referee Kevin Clancy agreed. It seemed a very harsh award. He pounced on Ambrose's defensive mistake to feed Kyogo who did the rest. He curled an effort inches over before the half-hour mark. The Israeli was always lively and keen to get involved and his combinations were good. 7

Kyogo Furuhashi: His first involvement was to head clear from a corner kick in his own box. His second was to dink the ball into the net from Abada'd through ball as the Japanese talisman notched number 19 for the season to put the Hoops 2-0 up. He turned provider for the third goal when he intelligently set up Turnbull for his exquisite strike. Before the half was out the clinical attacker had bagged number 20 for the campaign as he smashed the ball high into the net to make it four. There was to be no hat trick as he was substituted for Haksabanovic at half-time. 8

Daizen Maeda: He was kept fairly subdued in both halves. The Japanese winger did wriggle clear of his markers to stab the ball straight at Brian Schwake in the Morton goal as Celtic sought out a third goal. 6

Substitutes

Tomoki Iwata (McGregor 45): The Celtic supporters were given the chance to see the J1 League player of the year in action for the first time in a Hoops jersey when he replaced the skipper at the break. He looked energetic enough in the engine room although the tempo did drop slightly when the captain left the fray. 6

Sead Haksabanovic (Kyogo 45): It was a welcome return to first-team duty for the Montenegrin as he replaced Kyogo at the interval. He is one player that the Celtic faithful are desperate to see more of. 6

James Forrest (Abada 59): He is one medal short of overhauling Scott Brown's tally of 21 and will feel that he can equal or surpass that total this season. 5

Matt O'Riley (Turnbull 77): The top assister of goals this season in Scottish football was given the final 14 minutes in place of Turnbull.

Bosun Lawal (Starfelt 85): Given the final five minutes in place of Starfelt.

Substitutes not used: Scott Bain, Jota, Reo Hatate, Stephen Welsh.
