Celtic will unveil the Scottish Premiership flag against Jim Goodwin's Aberdeen at Celtic Park.

Ange Postecoglou's men will begin the defence of their league title with the traditional Scottish football curtain-raiser on Sunday, July 31, with a 4:30 pm kick-off after the SPFL announced all 42 fixtures for the 2022/23 season.

The Hoops also face trips to Dingwall to face Ross County as well as Rugby Park against Derek McInnes' newly-promoted outfit Kilmarnock and Tannadice to take on Dundee United before the first Glashow derby of the season at home to Rangers on September 3.

The first week in September is shaping up to be pivotal for Celtic who will entertain Rangers before embarking on their inaugural Champions League group stage campaign under Postecoglou.

Elsewhere Celtic are closing in on a free transfer deal for former Dundee United goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist.

Siegrist is a free agent after leaving Tannadice at the end of his contract and the 30-year-old was high on Postecoglou's wish list and now it looks like Celtic has beaten off interest from Ipswich and Preston North End to finally land their man.

The Swiss keeper who spent four years with the Tangerines will provide stiff competition to Joe Hart for the No.1 spot, joining Scott Bain as back-up.

Meanwhile is there any need for the Celtic fans to panic over the Jota deal?
