It's official. The APR has kicked in.

No, not the annual percentage rate. The Ange Postecoglou Revolution that is.

It may have taken four attempts for Ange to win his first competitive game as the new Celtic boss but when it arrived it was worth the wait.

In front of a 6,000 capacity crowd at the Stadion Strelnice, it was Celtic who posted a crucial and morale-boosting 4-2 Europa League win against Jablonec.

The Aussie's men also managed to exorcise some European ghosts in the process on a night when Japanese striker Kyogo Furuhashi announced his arrival at the club.

Celtic's last trip to the Czech Republic back in November 2020 ended in a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Sparta Prague and sent Neil Lennon's men tumbling out of the Europa League group stage on matchday four.

Ange made sure there was to be no repeat of that debacle this time round as Celtic clinically disposed of the third-best team in the Czech Republic league last season.

It may sound like the start of a bad joke but it was an Australian, an Israeli, a rising Japanese star and two Scotsman that contrived to hand Celtic a priceless 4-2 victory and a precious advantage in the two-legged tie.

Ange tinkered with his team lineup and handed Kyogo Furuhashi his first competitive start in attack for the ineffective Odsonne Edouard.

That move paid instant dividends as Celtic raced into a two-goal lead inside 16 minutes courtesy of Liel Abada's second goal for the club and Furuhashi's clever dinked finish. James Forrest rammed home his 13th European goal for the club to make it three and Ryan Christie injury-time header gave Celtic some real daylight in the tie.

The old defensive frailties came back to haunt Celtic though when Nir Bitton - who set up the second goal for Furihashi - took leave of his senses and decided to ball watch as Vaclav Pilar drifted into space following a simple long ball and slammed the ball past Hart on 20 minutes. The Israeli who was a surprise inclusion after displacing Stephen Welsh in central defence also turned into his own net after 85 minutes to cap a typically mercurial display at the back.

Celtic now know they have 90 minutes in Glasgow's East End to kill off Jablonec and secure a Europa League play-off round berth against Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.

Whilst Ange and his team were securing a stunning Euro victory on the park and reconnecting with the Celtic supporters, the club's hierarchy were disconnecting with their fanbase and scoring a massive own goal off it.

Earlier today the Scottish government declared that Celtic could have a full house for the Jablonec return fixture.

Yet amazingly the Celtic board decided to charge their supporters £19 for the privilege of returning en masse to Paradise for the first time in almost 18 months.

Many of the Celtic fans felt the move a slap in the face and the Jablonec match should have been included for nothing on their season ticket packages as a gesture of goodwill for their incredible support during the pandemic.

Had the board granted the supporters access to the stadium gratis then the fans would have packed Parkhead to the rafters and cheered their heroes into the play-off round of the Europa League.

Fans had already planned a demonstration in order to register their protest against the board before Sunday's visit of Dundee. The £19 Jablonec ticket charge will only serve to add fuel to the fans fire.

Have those upstairs running the club shot themselves in the foot once again with their actions today?

"There's an awful lot of love. It seems like the kind of place you can be really proud to wear the badge and it is something I'm really excited to be a part of."

These were the words uttered by former England and Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart as he put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the club on Wednesday.

Celtic can certainly take great encouragement from their away display in the Czech Republic.

The Jablonec result was the sign of improvement and progression that the Celtic fans were finally waiting for.

In Ange they trust.

APR is now officially up and running.

It's the club's hierarchy and not the manager that the Celtic supporters will continue to monitor these days ... with added interest.
