Celtic's blistering first-half performance against FC Midtjylland last week saw them start the second period with a 1-0 advantage, but Nir Bitton's red card upset the home side's rhythm and Vasilis Barkas' questionable goalkeeping allowed the visitors to equalise from a tight-angled free-kick.

With Kyogo Furuhashi and Carl Starfelt still in isolation after signing and travelling from foreign lands, there's a high chance tomorrow's team will feature only one change from the first-leg, and exactly replicate the XI that started against West Ham on Saturday.

Our journalists speculate if there will be any changes...

The big issue for Ange Postecoglou ahead of the second leg against FC Midtjylland is that there is no choice essentially when it comes to team selection.

As the season goes deeper it's a fair bet that this team will look significantly different.

Christopher Jullien has the best part of a month at least before he will be back to some kind of fitness – and having been out for nine months it will take some time for him to get match fit. Carl Starfelt will be available imminently but is not in the match squad for the game in Denmark.

The team that were, to put it kindly, horsed against West Ham now need to pick themselves up for a massive second leg game that has so much influence over the course of Celtic’s season.

The goalkeeping issue isn’t going anywhere soon but the indication is that it will be Vasilis Barkas who retains the gloves for the encounter.

Leigh Griffiths is not part of the party who has travelled for the game meaning that there will be a reliance on Odsonne Edouard for the goals. How the Frenchman could do with a parting gift ahead of what seems an inevitable move away this summer.

Liel Abada – the 19-year-old winger Celtic paid Maccabi Petah Tikva £3.4million to acquire earlier this month – impressed in the opening leg before Nir Bitton’s madness forced his exit and a tactical rethink.

I think Postecoglou will probably go for the same starting line-up as he fielded against West Ham.

I don’t think it benefits Dane Murray to leave him out of this match now just because he had a poor game against a good striker in a friendly. He won’t come up against the quality of Michail Antonio tomorrow and hopefully that experience actually helps him in the end.

It’ll probably be Vasilis Barkas wearing the gloves. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not ideal and Scott Bain’s probably the slightly safer option but what I would ask is: does Postecoglou really want to fall into the same trap as Neil Lennon did last season by essentially rotating between keepers who ultimately aren't any better than one another? It’s a rock and a hard place situation for him but I think he’ll stick with Barkas.

Up front, Albian Ajeti has travelled so that’s a bonus but, again, I think it’s going to be 'as you were', so it’ll be Odsonne Edouard and – if it is to be his last game – I hope he goes into it with the attitude of giving the club one last dynamic display.

The only other concern for me is if James Forrest is fit to start then perhaps there’s a decision to make but on the assumption he’s not quite ready, I think Liel Abada's done well enough to play without anyone feeling too upset. Forrest can always come on later (even, dare I suggest, at right-back) if need be.

There isn't much speculating to be done here.

A threadbare Celtic squad barely able to even blend youth and experience performed well in the first-leg before one of the older heads lost their's.

Welsh and Murray may sound more like a property law firm but right now they are Celtic's centre-half pairing, at least until Starfelt is finished his isolation period and Christopher Jullien recovers from his knee injury. Leo Hjelde is another young defender available but the former Ross County loanee is continually linked with Leeds and doesn't seem to be ingrained in any plans.

Ralston and Taylor are the preferred full-backs, I can't see any sudden change there, with Taylor clearly trusted more than Boli Bolingoli.

New captain Callum McGregor has started the season well and is a shoe-in, the same probably can't be said for David Turnbull and with Tom Rogic now fit it will be interesting to see if Postecoglou opts for his compatriot. With Turnbull starting against West Ham though, it probably suggests that won't be the case. Soro will sit behind them.

James Forrest, given his contribution to Celtic's European cause over the last wee while with important goals against Rosenborg and Lazio sticking out, could have reason to start on the right. That would be quite harsh on Liel Abada who electrified Celtic Park with his performance against the Danes last week. Forrest's match-fitness is still debatable too as he recently had to isolate for 10 days as a close-contact.

Ryan Christie has swatted away any suggestion he's not bothered by performing well for Postecoglou and he's likely to start on the left again, while Odsonne Edouard, heavily linked with Brighton, will start what could be his last game for Celtic.
