Celtic B captain Samuel Isiguzo signs contract extension

The versatile player, who can play in a variety of positions for Stephen McManus' side, signed his first senior contract in 2023, as he made the step up to the B team last year.

He scored in the UEFA Youth League against Slovan Bratislava, while also appearing for the senior squad in the mid-season friendly against Sligo Rovers in Ireland last year.

This summer, he appeared against Queen's Park and Cork City during pre-season, while also being named on the bench vs Estrela da Amadora and Sporting CP in Portugal.

Now taking part in his second season for Celtic B, he was named captain for the side's Lowland League campaign this summer, prior to their fourth season competing in Scotland's fifth tier.

He has also been pictured taking part in first-team training alongside Brendan Rodgers' senior squad on a number of occasions by club media.

This news comes shortly after the announcement of fellow Celtic B teammate Sean McArdle's move to Partick Thistle on a season-long loan to Mark Wilson's side.

The highly-rated midfielder joins the Firhill side after making his senior debut last season in the latter stages of the 2024/25 campaign.

On signing the 18-year-old, Wilson said: "We’re delighted to add Sean to our squad for this season. He’s a very talented young midfielder who has been playing regular Lowland League football for a couple of seasons now.

“He’s calm and composed on the ball and has that creativity in possession to go and create goals, either by scoring himself or by setting up his teammates.

“We’ve already had Josh Clarke and Ben McPherson come in on loan from Celtic and make a real impact, and I’m confident Sean can do similar.”
