Pundit 'certain' long-term Celtic target will be on the move

The Parkhead side have long been linked with a move for the centre-forward, who has scored 15 goals and assisted four in 26 games for his club this season. 

When Kyogo Furuhashi unexpectedly departed Celtic for Rennes in France a few months ago, manager Brendan Rodgers made clear his desire to draft in a replacement number nine for the Japanese frontman. 

Nothing came to fruition at the end of the January transfer window, although a move for Kvistgaarden may yet materialise in the summer in the eyes of Sorensen.

He said [Record]: "I am almost certain that Kvistgaarden will be sold this summer. He has been a sought-after player and had to accept that the club wanted to exploit his talent even further.

"He has also been one of the best for Brondby this season. Therefore, I am completely convinced that he will be disappointed if he is not sold."

Kvistgaarden is contracted with Brondby until the summer of 2027. 

While Daizen Maeda has been in fine fettle up top for Celtic of late, Adam Idah is the sole recognised striker at the club. 

The Irishman hasn't particularly set the heather alight since making his move to Glasgow from Norwich permanent last year. Boss Rodgers' public desire to sign a striker, too, means there could yet be life in Celtic's pursuit of Kvistgaarden.
