This is the moment Joe Hart displayed a bizarre reaction to his Scottish Cup semi-final penalty miss.

The former England goalkeeper winked and grinned after his penalty - which could have won the match - smashed off the post and clear.

Hart's somewhat strange reaction came as the shoot-out headed into sudden death.

Fortunately for Hart he had a chance to make himself the hero and save a spot-kick to send his side into the final of the competition.

And after Tomoki Iwata and Alistair Johnston also netted from 12 yards, Hart won the contest for his side as he denied Killian Phillips with a save to his right.

"I put myself forward," Hart told Premier Sports. "I've got the biggest mouth when it comes to penalties and they gave me the opportunity.

"There's a lot of trust and a lot of hard work gone into that. I took that penalty with confidence. I missed it, but what a game eh?

"We should have never been at penalties. We should have put that game to bed. James scored probably one of my favourite goals of the season and I was hoping that would win us the game. But we got it done, that was the most important thing."

He added: "That wasn't a feeling of elation, that was a feeling of: 'Wow, I really needed to do that for my team, for my club.' I needed to save that penalty. I felt a lot of responsibility having missed."
