Rock star Noel Gallagher believes Celtic will go on and win the Scottish Premiership title.

Gallagher, 56, was on the talkSPORT breakfast show discussing Manchester City's performance in the UEFA Champions League. But host and Rangers legend Ally McCoist couldn't help but ask him his thoughts on proceedings up north, with the race to be crowned champion coming down to a thrilling finish.

Rangers and Celtic drew 3-3 on Sunday which keeps a single point between the Glasgow rivals. Although Rangers can go top if they defeat Dundee at Dens Park tonight. And that’s why McCoist was eager to find out how Gallagher expects things to pan out.

"We can't let you go without the big one Noel, who will win the league in Scotland?," McCoist asked.

Gallagher responded: "What a game that was. Rangers had equalised and Celtic go up the other end and score - I thought that was it. But now Rangers are in the driving seat because if they win the game in hand they are ahead. But, you can't call it..."

Co-host Alan Brazil was keen to back Celtic's chances as he referenced the final derby clash of the league season being at Parkhead, where Rangers will have no fans in attendance.

He claimed: "Well, you can. 60,000 at Parkhead - you can call it..."

The Oasis frontman appeared easily convinced and replied: "Well, yeah. I have got to say the Bhoys will do it, yeah."

While Rangers diehard McCoist was left disappointed at Gallagher's verdict.

"You have let the side down there, Noel," he chimed in.
