Chris Sutton has branded Livingston's artificial pitch as an "embarrassment".

The Celtic hero slaughtered the surface as he labelled the pitch a "monstrosity".

Sky Sports pundit Sutton pulled no punches as he admitted he would be "glad" not to see the pitch in the top flight.

Sutton's comments came in the wake of Celtic's 3-0 triumph over Livingston on Sunday.

Brendan Rodgers' side overcame a stubborn defence to claim victory and move back top of the Scottish Premiership table.

However, the defeat left Livingston still rooted to the bottom of the table with just three wins all season.

And Sutton wasted little time in consolation over Livingston's relegation predicament with the club ten points behind Ross County in 11th.

Instead, the Celtic hero savagely remarked on the astroturf surface at Livingston's stadium and vowed he'd be pleased not to see it in the top flight should the club be relegated this season.

On X, formerly Twitter, Sutton stated: "Very comfortable for Celtic in the end.

"Great news to see Hatate back and for Carter-Vickers to seemingly come through 90 minutes.

"Livingston offered very little and I’ll be glad never to see their monstrosity of a pitch in the top flight again… it’s an embarrassment"
