Celtic hero Peter Grant has questioned the criticism Greg Taylor has received from some fans so far this season, calling it "weird".

The Scotland international has received flak from some Parkhead supporters for his performances, along with other members of the squad.

And Grant feels some of the negativity towards the left-back is undeserved.

Speaking to Go Radio, he said: "“Greg Taylor’s back from injury, you know all these things he’s gone off in the game.

"It’s weird. Greg’s getting a lot of criticism but I felt when he went off on Saturday, the game changed.

"I don’t mean necessarily with Bernabei coming on, I know he’s getting a lot of criticism, I don’t necessarily mean with that,  because of the position that Greg plays and how well he plays it, but that was a blow.

“I know it was probably 60 minutes he’s got to go off, I understand that, but it was a big change in the performance even after that and that’s the fine lines.

“It’s not a team of champions, let’s not be kidded, so it’s gonna be interesting to see how they respond.”

Meanwhile, Cameron Carter-Vickers is reportedly in line to make his Celtic injury comeback this weekend.

The centre-back has been sidelined through a hamstring injury he suffered last month.

However, The Scottish Sun claims Carter-Vickers, 26, could return for Celtic against Motherwell on Sunday.

It's reported the American international was given the go-ahead to train this week after three weeks of intensive treatment.

And as a result he is now ready to feature for Celtic at Fir Park this weekend should Brendan Rodgers decide to throw him back into the matchday squad.

Rodgers previously voiced concerns over players aggravating injuries with quickfire returns meaning a delayed return to action could be preferred.

But the report suggests Carter-Vickers has had no issues since returning to full training alongside his Parkhead team-mates.
