Everything that Cameron Carter-Vickers said to Celtic TV as he penned a new five-and-a-half-year deal with the club...

What made you want to extend your time at Celtic?

I have been here for two-and-a-half years and I have really enjoyed my time. I have really enjoyed with the coaching staff and the two managers I have had in my time here so far and I just want that to continue.

You mentioned the time you have been here and the fact that you have established yourself as one of the manager's first names on that starting eleven teamsheet. How much is your time at Celtic exceeded your own expectations?

Probably a little bit. I look back at the last two-and-a-half years and we have won a lot of football games, I have played in the Champions League which is always a special occasion and won a lot of trophies as well. So the thing for me now is kicking on and trying to win more.

Footballers always look to the next thing and are always looking forward. Now that your future is settled what are your ambitions for the future here at Celtic?

On a personal level, I want to continue to improve and continue to help the team win games. As a team, I want to win as many games as I can and have more success.

Not many professional footballers get to win silverware in their careers but you mentioned that you have already picked up five trophies here at Celtic. How much do those experiences make you want even more?

As a footballer, you are always looking for the next thing. In a way you don't get time to process that winning feeling as much as you would maybe like, you can see what it means to the fans when we come back here after we have won trophies and they are all outside the stadium celebrating and you can see that it means a lot to them. That's what we want to do as players make them happy.

I'm sure before you made this decision you looked around at the manager, and your teammates and then assess whether you wanted to be part of that. What do you feel that this side can achieve under the manager and with the current squad?

I think we can achieve a lot. Our goal at the moment is to win the league and qualify for the Champions League next season. I feel that there is a lot of growth as a group that we can do. Working under this manager we are definitely improving and he is trying to get the best out of us.

This will be fantastic news for the supporters and I am sure also your teammates some of whom like you have signed new long-term deals. Is it good to focus on the job at hand and what's left to play for this season?

Totally. We have just passed the halfway mark of the season and there is a lot to play for. We are fully aware as a group that we have got to keep winning games and improving to get to where we want to be. That is our main focus.

It is a very demanding support that we have here at Celtic. They demand success week in, week out and that is something you are used to now. How much has their support from the stands been a factor in your decision to stay here?

I think it helps. In a way, it stops you as a player, as a group getting complacent. You are always aware of the demands of this club. That is something that I have enjoyed so far and I'm sure that I will continue to enjoy it.
