Former Celtic boss Ronny Deila has pointed to his time at the club as a reason why he can succeed at Club Brugge.

The Belgian side have made their worst start to the season for 20 years, with the Norweigan under pressure.

But Deila feels his time at Parkhead, in which he won three trophies, proves he can turn things around.

As quoted in Football Scotland, he said: "What we are experiencing at the club reminds me of my time at Celtic. During my first season there, I was only sixth in October and it was very difficult.

"In the end, we became champions with a big lead. I believe in this group. Everything is there for us to succeed.

"I think the president and sports director realise that we are in a process. I know what it's like to win.

"I've done it in three countries, Norway, Scotland and the United States."

Meanwhile, Celtic hero Neil Lennon feels Callum McGregor is wasted in his more defensive position at Parkhead.

The Scotland international has moved further back in recent years, particularly since becoming captain.

And Lennon reckons the 30-year-old can offer more further up the park.

He told PLZ Soccer: "You have got Bernardo, Turnbull, you can maybe look at Iwata as a holding one and maybe push McGregor further forward.

“Sometimes I think he is a little wasted there. Give him a bit more forward impetus.”
