Celtic have urged supporters to get in touch regarding issues with stadium access at the club's match with Hibernian on Saturday.

There were widespread reports on social media of confusion and queues as away fans tried to enter the South Stand at Easter Road.

Now Celtic's supporter liaison officer John Paul Taylor has taken to Twitter to communicate with those who were impacted ahead of the 0-0 draw in the capital.

He wrote: "Ahead of our post-match debrief and in order that we may raise with Hibernian and Police Scotland, can fans who encountered issues during the access phase today at Easter Road please provide details of your experience in writing to jptaylor@celticfc.co.uk thank you."

Fans quickly responded to the tweet sharing their experiences of entering the stadium.

One wrote: "Worst I've seen it. Totally down to the police with the 4 horse women of the apocalypse not letting anyone through when turnstiles were empty. Will email."

Another said: "This is an ongoing issue at away grounds going to watch a game of fitba, issues not always cause by supporters."

A third tweeted: "The very reason I went to the Turnstiles about 2.05, Easter Rd is always a total shambles."

And a fourth added: "Worst ever man 3 year in a row it’s exact same."

We told last year how St Johnstone fans experienced similar issues when entering Easter Road as some supporters were forced to sit on stairwells.

Images that circulated on social media showed several Saints fans sitting on steps inside the away end during the first half of a league fixture last term.

The away section occupied half of the lower tier of the South Stand and St Johnstone sold out their over 1,000 allocation ahead of the match.

Hibs claimed that a combination of fans arriving late and supporters not sitting in their allocated seats resulted in the stairway issue.

A club spokesperson said: “The bulk of the St Johnstone supporters were late in arriving.

“A large group of their support, responsible for the pyros in this section had occupied an area of seating which for most was not their allocated seating.

“This affected a large number of St Johnstone supporters forcing them to seek alternative seating.

“Stewards worked with the affected supporters to find alternative seating, but due to the numbers, this did take time.

“We thank these supporters for their patience and understanding. The image provided is a snapshot and not representative of the whole game.”

Hibs have again been approached for comment after Saturday's match with Celtic.
