Everything Brendan Rodgers had to say in his post-match interview with Celtic TV after his side's 2-1 victory against Motherwell...

How do you reflect on that match?

It was a fantastic win and I thought we deserved to win it as we were the dominant team. There were a couple of moments on counter-attack where we had to be careful but I think the only thing that was missing was a bit of quality in the final third of the pitch. Our persistence was superb and we kept calm which was important. Obviously, we end up getting the first goal and it looks like it could be the winning goal. We are disappointed with the equaliser as we have to be more aggressive on the ball and go with the run but I have said many times that this club's history is built on late goals and it is what comes with the shirt. You have to keep running and fighting until the very end and that mentality served us very well. It was a great cross from Greg [Taylor] and Matty has another goal in terms of arriving in the box so all in all it was a great win for us and fantastic for the supporters behind the goal.

How impressive was Matt O'Riley?

Aye, it was on his right side as well. It was coming in and it was a big chance and it is an incredible finish with his right foot just off that near post. I am delighted for him and I am delighted for the board because they have put in so much hard work in over the last few months in the re-signing of some of our top players. Reo [Hatate] last night and Matt today and a lot of work goes into that. It also shows that the players are really convinced to continue their development at Celtic.

How impressed are you with the resilience of the players?

Yeah, I am very impressed and without knowing a lot of them. I think the calmness is what won it in the end. We did not just lump the ball forward, especially when they got the equaliser. We worked it, got into good areas and delivered. I am really proud of the team as they are building this resilience and mentality under a different manager. I am very proud of them today.

How much does a result like this give the team a massive confidence boost ahead of the game in Wednesday?

It will be a great night of emotion with the supporters that comes with that combination. It will be a special night but we need to recover well. We put so much into the game, working with the players and we got our rewards. Now we need to bring that same attitude, energy and quality into the game and hopefully there will be a little more space for us at home. Lazio will come to play and that should help us.
