Brendan Rodgers is the clear favourite to become the next Celtic manager.

The Irishman has stormed out in front with the bookmakers, with a return to Parkhead looking to be on the cards.

The 50-year-old is the huge odds-on favourite at 1/5 to return to Celtic as the club's next manager.

It was reported last night that Hoops chief executive Michael Nicholson had recently flown out to Mallorca for face-to-face talks with Rodgers about a stunning comeback.

It remains to be seen whether any potential move will come to fruition or not though, as Celtic look to step up their search for Ange Postecoglou's replacement.

Enzo Maresca is second on the bookies' list, with Celtic also believed to be keen on the Manchester City No.2.

But all other candidates at this time appear to be outside shots for the gig.

William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps said: “Brendan Rodgers looks to us to be the most likely candidate for the vacant Celtic job at 1/5, having been out of work since his sacking by Leicester in April, and with winning experience at the club we think the fans will be more than happy.

“Pep Guardiola’s assistant Enzo Maresca looks to be the other live candidate at 7/2, while Daniel Farke is third in the running, with the former Norwich manager 16/1 to take over at Celtic Park.”
