Ange Postecoglou has confirmed he has held talks with South Korea manager Jurgen Klinsmann over the progress of Celtic striker Oh Hyeon-gyu - and a particular Ayrshire delicacy.

Oh was called up to Klinsmann's national squad in the most recent international window and impressed his new boss with his attitude and application.

Former Tottenham striker Klinsmann made the trip to Kilmarnock on Sunday in the hopes of watching Oh in action for the Hoops and Postecoglou said he had already had a chat with the World Cup winner.

"I've had a bit of contact with Jurgen," Postecoglou told BBC Sportsound. "He's really happy with the way Oh performed in camp and he's keen to keep tracking him.

"This was his first opportunity to come and see him. Along with getting a famous Killie pie he'll get to see Oh in action as well."

When asked if he was going to partake in a pie himself, he replied: "I'll try one after the game, I've heard it's decent."

In the run-up to the game, Postecoglou appeared to confirm that both Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers were missing from the squad due to the artificial surface at Rugby Park.

He told BBC Sportsound that "both pulled up sore last time we played here" before adding to Sky Sports: "[It's a] combination... there's a couple of boys who this pitch doesn't do a great deal for so we've decided to leave them out.

"But it's also to bring some fresh legs in. Tomoki, Haksa and Yuki have all been working hard in training and I think we're going to need some energy today. Hopefully those three can bring that for us."

In their places came Yuki Kobayashi and Sead Haksabanovic, with Tomoki Iwata replacing Aaron Mooy - who made the bench - the only other change to the starting XI.
