Celtic will take on Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-final on Sunday April 30 at 1:30pm.

There had been previous speculation as to whether the Hampden clash would take place on the Saturday due to the Kilt Walk also happening over the same weekend.

However, it has now been confirmed by both clubs that the match will happen on the Sunday.

It is the second season in a row the two clubs have faced off in the final four of the competition with the Ibrox side winning 2-1 after extra time in last year's iteration of the tournament.

Last time the two teams met at the national stadium, Ange Postecoglou's side ran out 2-1 winners thanks to a double from a Kyogo Furuhashi which helped seal a second successive League Cup victory for the Australian's men.

Meanwhile, UEFA president Alexander Ceferin has offered Celtic and Rangers a Champions League assurance as he blasted Super League "sharks"

The football chief vowed to defend the Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League competitions against the threat of a European Super League.

Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus reportedly back a revamped ESL system - with a previous attempt to overthrow European football booted out last year.

However, Ceferin insists "nobody cares" about the Super League now and that without backing from English and German clubs.

Instead, Ceferin insists he has told the three clubs still backing the ESL to go and play a Super League because "football doesn't want them".

The comments from the UEFA president offer security of European football to Celtic and Rangers to an extent by throwing out any Super League suggestion.

Asked if a European Super League could come into play without English clubs, Ceferin told The Overlap: "No way. Without the English clubs, the Champions League is not the same.

"No Super League would exist and you have to know that German clubs are in the exactly same position as English clubs.

"If Bayern or Borussia Dortmund joined you would see people on the streets exactly the same way as you saw in England. France against. In Spain, out of 20 clubs in La Liga, 18 against.

"Whenever they moan I always say, play your Super League. You are three, you can play your Super League, nobody cares and football doesn't want them. It is so clear for me that I would say sorry and try to go on."

Quizzed on his ambitions for another term at UEFA, Ceferin was firm in his top priority to defend European football against "sharks" - and he admitted there won't be further changes to European competitions in the coming years.

"We have to keep our football from these sharks that are swimming around and trying to ruin the pyramid, that's very important. It's important to invest in infrastructure around Europe, invest into women's football and of course youth.

"I am sure I will not support any more changes of competitions. We should play Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League like we will in 2024.

"I don't think it was very necessary to change it but it will be better, it's an evolution rather than revolution."
