Crystal Palace could be on the lookout for a new striker this summer, according to Ian Wright.

The former Arsenal forward reckons Partick Viera will be in the market for a new frontman in the next transfer window.

The ex-England star believes that Odsonne Edouard's move from Celtic hasn't worked out.

The Frenchman moved to the Eagles in the summer of 2021.

He got off to a sensational start by netting a double against Tottenham on his debut for the London club.

However, over the course and distance of his time in the capital so far, Edouard has struggled to recapture his form at Celtic that earned him the move in the first place.

He had just five goals to his name in total, with three of those coming in 23 Premier League matches. The 25-year-old hasn't netted a league goal since October.

Palace are lurking close to the relegation spots in the Premier League as the season run-in approaches.

They've yet to win a league game in 2023 and Wright reckons they've got a problem in the striking department having failed to score in 12 league matches this term.

He told Premier League Productions: "You look at Palace, are they going to give him (Vieira) the money to spend, are they waiting for the summer? Hopefully, Patrick will still be there in the summer.

"Up to this point, they haven’t made a significant signing, for a start like most teams, they need a goalscorer.

"You need to find somebody who can take those chances, they thought it was going to happen with Odsonne Edouard, it’s not quite happened.”
