Celtic midfielder Aaron Mooy has declared he is still "trying to take it all in" in terms of the pressures that come with playing for the club.

The Australian has scored six times and provided seven assists for the Scottish champions this season.

He has kicked on since the break for the World Cup, becoming a fan favourite in the process.

During a social media Q+A with supporters, the 32-year-old was asked what persuaded him to sign for the Hoops.

He replied: "Celtic's a massive club, everyone knows about the club. I worked with the manager before and I was excited by the football they were playing.

"The stadium and the fans too. What makes Celtic special is the fans, so I'm trying to enjoy it and take it all in."

Meanwhile, Celtic winger Mikey Johnston has decided to switch his international allegiance to Ireland, according to reports.

The Parkhead youth graduate is reportedly in the process of switching to represent Ireland at international level.

Johnston, 23, is currently on loan at Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal and had previously played for the Scotland youth sides at under-19 and under-21 age groups.

However, the Independent reports Johnston has chosen to represent Ireland - who he qualifies for through his grandparents being from Derry.

It's claimed Johnston has been in talks with national team boss Stephen Kenny throughout the winter months with FIFA clearance expected in the imminent future.

The international allegiance switch could even come through quick enough for Johnston to have a shot at a call-up for matches later this month.
