Celtic face a difficult trip to Hearts in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup.

The draw for the last-eight of the competition was made this evening.

There are some tasty looking encounters ahead, but the standout tie of the round undoubtedly comes with this all-Premiership clash.

TV scheduling usually deicdes when the fixtures for the Scottish Cup are played. The quarter-final games will be played on the weekend of March 11.

Of course, further details confirming dates and kick-off times have yet to be announced.

However, Scotland's Six Nations game against Ireland may give us a big clue with regards to Hearts vs Celtic.

That rugby match is due to take place on Sunday, March 12.

Taking into account the close proximiety between Tynecastle and Murrayfield, it seems unthinkable for both sporting events to occur on the same day due to overcrowding, transport and policing.

That means it's likely the game between the two Premiership high-fliers will take place on the Saturday afternoon.

It remains to be seen whether a 12.30pm kick-off will be implemented, or as seen before, a 5.30pm kick-off.

All four of the ties will be selected for broadcast on live TV.

Inverness will host Kilmarnock, while either Darvel or Falkirk will take on Ayr United at home.

Rangers will welcome Raith Rovers to Ibrox for their quarter-final tie.
