Forgotten Celtic man Yosuke Ideguchi has finally sealed his departure from the club with a loan move back to his homeland.

The 26-year-old was one of three Japanese signings to join the Hoops in January 2022, alongside Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda.

Unlike those two and Kyogo Furuhashi, who joined in the summer of 2021, Ideguchi's switch from the J1 League just has not worked out.

He featured in 150 competitive minutes last season but did not set foot on the pitch for Celtic this term.

Media outlet Sponichi reported that Ideguchi was closing in on a loan to Avispa Fukuoka and now Celtic have confirmed the move. He will join the club on a year-long loan, with no mention of an option to buy asyet.

A short statement from the club reads: "Yosuke Ideguchi has joined J1 League side Avispa Fukuoka on a year-long loan. Good luck, Yosuke!"
