Celtic's scintillating early-season form sees their players dominate the Scottish Premiership's rising market value list.

Football information outlet Transfermarkt notes that seven of the top 10 value increases in the SPFL belong to Celtic players.

Jota's value has increased by £3million while Matt O'Riley's has risen by £2.3m. Cameron Carter-Vickers and Reo Hatate also feature in the top five with Greg Taylor, Moritz Jenz and Giorgos Giakoumakis all in the top 10.

Conversely, Rangers players feature most prominently in terms of depreciating values.

Ryan Kent has lost £3m in value after an indifferent start to the campaign and an expiring contract while Alfredo Morelos, Ridvan Yilmaz, Rabbi Matondo and Filip Helander are also among the biggest fallers.

Overall, Celtic's squad value has risen by almost six per cent while their closest rivals' has decreased by over four per cent.

How Transfermarkt market values work

Here's what the outlet says about their figures:

The Transfermarkt market values are calculated taking into account various pricing models.

A major factor is the Transfermarkt community, whose members discuss and evaluate player market values in detail. In general, the Transfermarkt market values are not to be equated with actual transfer fees.

The goal is not to predict a price but an expected value of a player in a free market. Both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant in determining market values. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm.
