Chris Sutton has warned against Celtic complacency despite his former side leading the Premiership title race by nine points.

The Hoops are well clear of arch rivals Rangers as the domestic game in Scotland pauses for a five-week break due to the World Cup.

Ange Postecoglou's men have been almost perfect so far this campaign, winning 14 out of 15 league matches. The only blemish on their record was a disappointing defeat away to St Mirren.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst's future as Rangers manager has even come into question as a result of Celtic storming so far in front of their rivals.

Most pundits have either stated that the title race is already over, or certainly that it's clearly Celtic's to lose.

However, Sutton has warned that they will need to be careful with three derby games remaining this season still.

Appearing on 606 Football Phone In on BBC, he spoke about the situation with Robbie Savage.

The one-time Manchester United player said: “Celtic. Title’s over, Chris. Nine points, done."

Sutton replied: “If you’re a Celtic player and Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou, [you] cannot think like that.”

After a caller then sided with Savage on the matter, Sutton warned: “You’re saying the league’s over right now? That’s still a big call.”
