100 CLUB FOR TAYLOR

Greg Taylor marked his 100th appearance for Celtic with a goal and another top display for Ange Postecoglou’s team. The Scotland international is probably enjoying the most impressive campaign of his career. Taylor has been a standout and offers so much to the Celtic team, he looks assured defensively, a threat going forward and he is just tireless on the left-hand side week in week out. He had his doubters in a Celtic jersey, but Taylor has certainly proved a lot of people wrong this season. The arrival of Alexandro Bernabei appears to have spurred him on and given him an added incentive to perform to the best of his ability.

PRESSURE? WHAT PRESSURE?

There was a lot of pressure on Celtic with Rangers winning well against Aberdeen on Saturday, but they did not let that impact their display. Postecoglou’s team were at it from the off as they dominated possession against Livingston. They defended well and kept Livi quiet, even with the impressive Joel Nouble up top. Postecoglou makes small tweaks to his team on a game-by-game basis and every player, more often than not, steps up to the mark domestically. Even during a recent period of injuries, Celtic have remained strong and their squad depth has been a huge positive this season.

KYOGO BOUNCES BACK

Kyogo Furuhashi has been criticised for his performances in the Champions League this term and he has been wasteful in front of goal. The Japanese international started up top with Giorgos Giakoumakis against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday, and he missed a key chance with his strike partner getting on the scoresheet. Ultimately Celtic missed out on the chance to play in the Europa League, but Postecoglou showed faith in his man as he gave him the nod against Livingston. Kyogo would repay the faith displayed by his manager by opening the scoring at the Tony Macaroni Arena in style. It was a stunning finish and he will be hoping he can hit a bit of form now.
