Everything Ange Postecoglou said to the media after Celtic's 2-1 Scottish Premiership win over St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park...

That was a crazy ending to that game, what did you make of it?

Yeah look, it’s a game we probably should have put to bed a little bit earlier with the chances we had. At 1-0, you know that it’s always on a bit of a knife edge, particularly as they’re a team who will lump balls into the box, and you are going to have to defend sometimes pretty desperately. They obviously got the goal late, but again, there was great character and resilience by the lads. We did it a few times last year and we’re going to have to show that at times again this year. You can win a game of football in many ways, but I think winning it this way also provides us confidence in the fact that we still have that sort of resilience within the group.

What were the positives and negatives?

Yeah, at the beginning of the year we were putting everything away, and now we’re going through a patch where we’re not as clinical in front of the goal. During the course of a season that is going to happen, and we’re going to have to show that character we showed today if we want to be successful. Credit to the players, they did it.

How did you assess Matt O’Riley who was deployed in a different midfield role and Sead Haksabanovic?

I thought they were OK. I thought Haksa was really good, he was a threat any time he go on the ball running at them or running into little channels. I thought he was really good. Matty was good too, but obviously Matty and the other guys put in a massive shift the other night, so we’ve just got to manage our way through this period and make sure we don’t overload the players. For the most part, I thought it worked ok.

Is it reassuring you are still at least creating a lot of chances?

Yeah, that will happen unless you are the perfect side. You can go through points of a season where things just aren’t going in for you, and we’re certainly going through a period like that now. But the chances are still there, and my belief is that if you keep persisting with that then the goals will come because we’ve got goalscorers in the team. We showed that last year, and we showed that at the beginning of this year, it’s just about getting into those areas, maintaining our composure and not getting too anxious about it. If we keep creating the kinds of chances we are then we will get the rewards.”

What were your thoughts on Alexandro Bernabei's display?

I thought Alexandro (Bernabei) did well. He got a bit tired towards the end but to be fair to him that was his first game of football for quite a while. I thought he showed the attributes we really find exciting. He takes the game on and is really aggressive with the ball. His defending is improving and he is a young player we have high hopes for. It is not easy trying to make your Premiership debut here. It might have been easier to give him that at home but I thought he handled it really well.

His contribution to the winning goal was good?

Yeah, he kept going and showed good character. I thought he was tired after about the 75-minute mark but he found the energy to get down the line. It was a good start for him and I think he will be a very good player for us.

Giorgos Giakoumakis did well to score, disallowed goal could have disheartened him but he plugged away and got his reward, didn't he?

Yeah, that is his role. I thought he was a bit sloppy with the ball today. He gave it away a few times but ultimately as a striker the important thing is that at that moment he is there and he is that type of character. The first day he was here he showed he was not going to shirk anything. He is the striker and he wants to be the goalscorer and scored a good goal for us.

How good was it to welcome Cameron Carter-Vickers back to the team?

It was good to get Cameron back in. Obviously, he is one of our more experienced players, it is crazy saying that with his age and the fact it is only his second year here but that is the kind of group we have. Having his experience was good and he felt pretty good again. Probably got a bit tired towards the end but the 90 minutes will do him good.

The injury to Callum McGregor could have been worse are you thankful for that?

Yeah, you never know about these things. Initial reports were probably that the break helps us a little bit but he (Callum McGregor) will miss three or four weeks which is a fair amount of football but with the break not so bad. The good thing is that with the break he will be raring to go when the season resumes and that will be a massive bonus for us.

Does he need surgery?

No.

Is Jota OK?

Yeah, there was a bit of fatigue there and we were never going to give him too many minutes. Again, he has been carrying a heavy load with a few games in the stretch and we thought we would take him off at half-time.
