Motherwell defender Matt Penney feels Celtic will be 'dangerous' after losing to St Mirren before the international break.

However, he does think that the Parkhead side can be got at.

The on-loan Ipswich man was speaking ahead of the game between the two sides in the Scottish Premiership.

Both teams lost last time out, with the Steelmen falling 3-0 at home to Hearts while the Hoops went down 2-0 in Paisley.

And the Englishman thinks the game could be an opportunity for the Fir Park club to get a result.

"You say it’s a big game but we’ve just battered Hearts for 90 minutes," he said.

“They’re supposed to be the third-best team in this league and we’ve battered them for 90 minutes.

"With the way we played against Hearts, if we can sort those details out there’s no reason why we can’t go to Celtic and put a performance on there, and put our foot down on the league.

"It will be a great game for the neutral, but with the boys in the changing room and the manager there’s no reason why we can’t go there and get a result.”

Despite his confidence, the 24-year-old was keen to stress that Ange Postecoglou's men would be like a wounded animal after their last result.

He continued: "Losing makes them dangerous, they’re going to have a point to prove, but then so do we."
