Celtic hero Frank McAvennie has hailed Ange Postecoglou's transfer strategy and has claimed there are 'no bad apples' in the Hoops dressing room.

The Australian has enjoyed great success in the recruitment department since joining the club last summer, and the former Scottish international is a great admirer of the business he has conducted.

He has made clear the importance of the manager picking his own players and that this is one of the contributing factors to the ex-Socceroos coach's success in Scotland so far.

Speaking to Football Insider, McAvennie said: “He knows who he brings in will determine if he stays or not. Nobody’s infallible.

"When they’re playing terribly it falls on the manager. It’s only right that he should buy the players and he gets the blame if they don’t perform well, he’ll get the blame even if it’s not him.

“What I’ve been told is that he speaks to his agent and tells him who he wants and the agent goes and speaks to whoever.

"It’s great that he can do that. People still fly all over the world to go and watch players, you’ve still got to go and watch them.

“He’s bringing in players and they’re fitting into the changing room, they’re all getting on great."

The former Hoops forward also spoke about the squad harmony and how none of the new signings introduced have disrupted the positive feeling around the club.

He continued: "There’s nobody in there that’s a bad apple, anybody that’s wanting to leave will be allowed to leave.

"People that don’t want to be there will be out the door, Ange will let them leave.“
