Celtic and Ange Postecoglou have been handed a significant boost ahead of their crunch double header against Leipzig in a couple of weeks time.

This is due to the fact that key midfielder Konrad Laimer is set to miss both matches with an injury, according to journalist Philipp Hinze who is a reporter for Sky Sports Germany.

He limped off during the German side's 3-0 victory against Borussia Dortmund and missed the defeat to Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

The Austrian is an important part of Marco Rose's midfield and will be a big miss, particularly for the two matches against the Scottish champions.

The Hoops will be looking to take something from both games against the Bundesliga team as they try to make it out of the group and into the last 16 of the Champions League for the first time since 2013.

It is in third place that the Bhoys currently sit with one point after their draw with Shakhtar Donetsk in Poland.

Speaking after the match, the former Socceroos coach spoke about the importance of the upcoming fixtures and what his team needs to do to try and pick up more points.

“You definitely have to earn everything at this level,” he said.

“Every point and every win will take maximum effort from us and for us to be at our best.

"The players really embraced the fact we will have to be at our best all the time for everything we get."
