Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart made a hilarious apology to a TV presenter he accidentally hit with a ball while warming up before the match against Shakhtar Donetsk.

The 35-year-old was left red-faced after a pre-game drill did not go entirely to plan.

After the Champions League fixture, in which the Hoops drew 1-1 in Warsaw, the former Manchester City man made clear he was sorry for the incident.

Speaking to Danish TV channel TV2Sport at the end of the 90 minutes, the Bhoys stopper explained he was trying to find goalkeeping coach Stevie Woods with a pass that went a bit wayward.

He said: “Oh yeah, sorry, I was waving to say sorry, but you didn’t turn around. Apologies.

"Were you live at the time? Sorry."

It was rumoured that one of the reasons Pep Guardiola moved him on from the Premier League side was because of the struggles he had playing the ball out with his feet.

And the ex- England No.1 poked fun at this when being interviewed after his teams draw in Poland.

He continued: "My goalie coach was literally five yards away. That’s why my career has gone where it has gone.”
