CELTIC have revealed the away allocation for the Champions League clash against Shakhtar Donetsk has sold out.

The club ticket social media account announced a "limited number" of tickets were available to be sold to eligible season ticket holders this afternoon.

And a later update confirmed Celtic have sold out their away allocation for the Champions League clash which will be played in Warsaw, Poland.

A post on the Celtic Tickets Twitter account read: "A limited number of tickets for the away match v Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday 14th September are now on sale to eligible STH."

A later update added: "Tickets for the away fixture v Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday, 14th September are now sold out."

Shakhtar are playing their European fixtures in Poland due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine after the Russian invasion.

Celtic are due to play Shakhtar on Wednesday, Spetember 14 in the Champions League group stage fixture.

However, questions have been raised over whether European matches will go ahead after domestic fixtures in Scotland and England were postponed following the Queen's death.

The Celtic tickets update appears to suggest the match is still expected to go ahead as scheduled on Wednesday - after the match against Livingston was postponed.

The ticket news comes after Rangers revealed talks with UEFA and Police Scotland are ongoing over their Champions League match against Napoli on Tuesday.

The match at Ibrox is scheduled to take place as normal - but confirmation has not been announced with "policing and resource pressures" being considered.

However, the major difference with Celtic's fixture is that Ange Postecoglou's side are due to play abroad with Rangers scheduled to play in Glasgow on Tuesday.

Confirming the postponed fixtures THIS weekend, a Celtic statement today, read: "We have been informed that following meetings this morning, the Scottish FA, Scottish Professional Football League, Scottish Women’s Premier League, and Scottish Highland and Lowland Football Leagues have agreed that all professional football matches will be postponed this weekend as a mark of respect following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

"This postponement will also incorporate the Women’s Scottish Cup fixtures this weekend."
