Celtic's home fixture against Livingston in the Scottish Premiership has been postponed due to the passing of The Queen.

Ange Postecoglou's men were due to take on The Lions this weekend, but the match will now need to be pencilled in at a later date.

Due to the large volume of games between now and the break for the World Cup at the start of November, it is not entirely clear when the fixture will be able to take place.

Between the international break coming up and then the six-week shutdown in a couple of months, Postecoglou's side do not have a free midweek or weekend.

This is due to them having to fit another five Champions League fixtures in before the tournament in Qatar, as well as a quarter-final tie in the League Cup against Motherwell to contend with on Wednesday October 19.

This means the Scottish champions will not have a gap in their schedule until after the New Year, which is when the postponed match is likely to take place.

Even if Celtic remain in Europe after Christmas, UEFA competitions do not resume until February, so there would be a gap in January to play the game against David Martindale's side.

The earliest the fixture could take place would be the week starting January 2.
