Celtic youngster Alexander Walker has joined Scottish Premiership rivals Hearts on a two-year deal.
The 16-year-old came through the Hoops youth system and played for the club’s under-18s side last season. The centre-back has swapped Parkhead for the capital club and will strengthen Frankie McAvoy’s ranks at Tynecastle.
Academy director McAvoy believes Walker’s an exciting addition to the young Jambos after spending a few weeks training with the club.
“He's great with both feet, good on the ball, and looking forward to grasping the opportunity to come to Hearts and progress, McAvoy told the Hearts official website.
"His chances at Celtic weren't as fruitful as he hoped, so he's ready for this new challenge. He's trained with us for a few weeks now, and we're delighted to have him here permanently now."
A club statement read: "Our Under-18s have bolstered their ranks with the signing of Alexander Walker from Celtic.
"Alexander joins on a two-year deal. A left-sided centre-back, 16-year-old Alexander joins after a long spell in the Celtic Park youth system and turned out for the Hoops' 18s last season."
