Celtic’s Japan and USA internationals have been handed a travel boost ahead of their international fixtures next month.

The sides are set to face off in the Kirin Challenge Cup at the Dusseldorf Arena on September 23, with kick off being a local time of 2.25pm (9.25pm JST).

Japan’s fixture against Ecuador will take place in the same stadium at 1.55pm local time (8.55pm JST).

It’s a major boon for Ange Postecoglou that his international players will not have to travel outside of Europe. They will already be facing a hectic schedule balancing the Scottish Premiership, domestic cup competitions and UEFA Champions League group stage football.

Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda look likely to be involved - having both played a part in Japan's Kirin Cup games during the summer - while Reo Hatate will be hoping to be able to add to his one cap.

Cameron Carter-Vickers was back in the USA fold this summer and could well be involved again this time around after continuing to impress since joining the Hoops on a permanent four-year deal from Tottenham Hotspur.
