ANGE POSTECOGLOU insists he's not aware of any speculation linking James McCarthy with a move away from Celtic Park.

The Republic of Ireland international joined the Hoops on a four-year deal last summer.

The former Everton star signed as part of a double-coup for the champions, with Joe Hart joining on the same day.

Things haven't exactly worked out for the one-time Hamilton starlet though, with his game time severely curtailed.

Postecoglou says the 31-year-old very much remains a part of his first team squad for the moment.

The Australian was asked directly about reports linking the midfielder with a move down south.

He replied: "It is not on my radar, mate. I am just dealing with what is in front me.

"Macca (McCarthy) is still training with the squad, and beyond that, there is nothing on my radar."

Postecoglou revealed during his conference that Carl Starfelt if back, ready for first team action again.

He said: "He is training, but obviously, we need to pick our moment to throw him back in there as he has not played any competitive football yet.

"It has been his first full week of training, so we still need to make a decision whether to play him tomorrow or bring him back next week."

On the challenge Ross County will present, Postecoglou added: "It will be a good challenge. We went up there a couple of times last year, and it was always a tough game.

"That is the thing with Malkay Mackay's teams. He sets them up to be aggressive, and you know it will always be competitive, whether that is at home or away.

"Last week I thought they fought well and were good value for getting a couple of goals. It did not end up that way, but they look like they have picked up where they left off last season despite some changes.

"From our perspective, though, nothing changes. We just have to play our game and our best football."
