Everything defender Moritz Jenz said to Celtic TV after his arrival on a season-long loan from FC Lorient...

Welcome to Celtic, how does it feel to sign for the Scottish champions?

First of all, thank you. It's an amazing feeling to be here. It was a dream for me since last year because I really wanted to come here last year. Finally, it's a dream come true to play for massive club. So I'm really happy to be here.

So was that something that was always in the back of your mind... you saw yourself coming to play for us?

Yes, for sure. Because since last year, I've been in touch with Matt O'Riley who's my best mate since we were young together at Fulham and he told me a lot of great things. I followed the season as well,  obviously went very good for Celtic as they won the league. It's just very fascinating and I a dream come true.

So when Matt signed was he on the phone to you saying 'come on over and join me'?

Yeah he texted me immediately and said 'listen tell your agent to try something, it would be nice to have you here.

That must be nice for you to come into a new club, a new squad, and you've already got a friend here that can help you settle?

Definitely it's always good to have a friend, someone who can help you settle quickly. I've also met the lads today - a good group of people, very open, very nice. I look forward to working hard to get as far as possible in the season with the team and achieve great things.

What can the Celtic fans expect to see from you?

A hard-working player, a player who's physical and aggressive, who likes to play. They can expect me to give everything for the club to achieve the highest targets.

There's obviously a lot to look forward to. We'll be going to defend the league title and we've also got the Champions League football to look forward to... that must be exciting for you as a player?

Yes, it's very exciting. Obviously every player's dream is to play for this team and to compete for the biggest trophies and competitions. So yeah, I'm really looking forward to it and I want to finish as high as possible in every trophy possible.

Obviously, you mentioned to me in your team-mates - did you get a chance to speak to your new manager as well?

Yes, I had a chat with the manager two weeks ago on the phone and the start of the week as well then today in person. He is a fantastic manager, he has his ideas and tells you what he expects from you, it's a good feeling.

You must be desperate to get on the training pitch and start training...

Yes, definitely. I would love to play tomorrow [against Legia Warsaw] obviously but things were a little bit busy today. So we'll train this week and then slowly join with the team on Friday and then be ready for the match on the weekend.

Everybody knows Celtic are a big name in terms of European football but you will have followed - because Matt was playing - the progress and our success last season with keen interest?

Definitely because of last season but also because you know at Fulham my coach was Peter Grant, who was a big player at the club. I used to listen to his stories often. He told me he played with Andy Thom who was here also and there was always like an eye for it. You know? Special club with a special logo, a special shirt, special history... so there was always a desire to one day play for this club.

You have a lot of Celtic connections already...

Exactly, yeah. I think maybe it's destiny. I hope so.

Do you think the time you spent in the UK with Fulham will help you?

Yes, definitely. Because I started from a young age to go to England. I know the culture  in the United Kingdom and I know the language, I know the style of football is. I'm used to it and it will benefit me a lot.
