ABERDEEN ace Connor Barron is reportedly on the radar of Celtic this summer.

The 19-year-old has been on Scotland U21 duty recently.

And the Scottish Daily Express report that scouts from Celtic watched his performance against Belgium this afternoon.

The game finished 0-0, with Barron the standout player on the park.

The midfielder has become a rising star within Scottish football over the past few months, having been drafted into the Dons first team by Jim Goodwin since his arrival back in February.

He regularly impressed during a disappointing end to the season for the Pittodrie outfit.

He also played for Kelty Hearts on loan during the first half of last term.

And this report suggests that there could be a potential move for Barron should he continue to star for club and country.

Goodwin has already outlined how important Barron is to his plans in the new campaign, though.

He said: “It’s important to remind ourselves Connor is 19 and has only had a handful of games in the first team.

“He is a big part of our plans. But we’re looking to strengthen that area as we don’t want Connor thinking he’s a mainstay.

"We want him thinking if he drops his standards he’ll be out the team and that comes back to recruitment.

“There shouldn’t be a single player in the team who thinks it doesn’t matter what they do in the game they will be in the team next week.”
