JOHN BARNES fully expects Celtic to go on and win the Premiership title this year after they moved six points clear of Rangers on Sunday.

The Hoops came from behind to defeat Giovanni van Bronckhort's team who went ahead inside two minutes through Aaron Ramsey.

Former Parkhead boss Barnes was impressed with Celtic's display but he has warned supporters to not expect another 10-in-a-row attempt, as he reckons Rangers will spend big in the summer.

Speaking to BonusCodeBets.co.uk, Barnes said: "Celtic have done really well. Ange Postecoglou has done a great job there - when he came people were talking about how he’d been in Australia and questioning if he was the right man for the job, but he’s won them over.

"Rangers were always going to have a dip and even if Steven Gerrard was still there you could see that Celtic were going to get closer this season.

"Celtic are now favourites - they’re six points ahead and don’t seem to be dropping many points. They won’t necessarily dominate in the years after this because Rangers are still a good side.

"I don’t expect another nine or ten in a row for Celtic. Van Bronckhorst will spend some money, but this year it looks like it’s going to be Celtic’s league."
