CALLUM MCGREGOR could be facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury, Peter Grant reckons.
The Hoops skipper suffered a facial injury in Saturday evening's Scottish Cup victory over Alloa.
Ange Postecoglou was forced to substitute his star man as a result.
And Grants fears the Scotland international could be missing for some time - as he spoke about a potential "broken bone".
With huge games coming up against Hearts and Rangers, Grant reckons McGregor will be missing for the crunch clashes.
The ex-Dunfermline & Alloa manager told BBC Sportscene: "At first everyone thought it was a head clash but my concern is when you seen Callum holding the side of his face.
"I've broken a bone there myself and it was six to eight weeks I was out.
"You look at the manager after that and it's the most disappointed I've seen him since he became manager, so you can tell Callum has picked up a bad injury."
He continued: "The way it was looking, the way he was touching the side and not the front (of his face), it could still be a broken bone.
"It would be a huge loss for Celtic, for everybody yes, he's been a top player from them."
