CHRISTOPHER JULLIEN made his Celtic comeback from injury in a friendly victory over St Mirren.

The centre-back, 28, has spent over a year on the sidelines after a cruciate ligament rupture in December 2020.

But he was back playing for Celtic in a behind-closed-doors friendly victory against St Mirren.

The Scottish Sun report Jullien played in the second-half of the 1-0 win with Owen Moffat netting the only goal.

It's a boost for Ange Postecoglou who had previously revealed his hope for Jullien to be back in contention for selection when competitive Scottish Premiership action returns next week.

The friendly also gave Japanese trio Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi their first taste of Scottish football as they all played a part.

Joe Hart was also included in the team with James Forrest featuring in the match at Lennoxtown.

Discussing Jullien's return to training earlier this week, Postecoglou said: "Chris has worked awfully hard and it's always difficult with those  long-term ones because there is no real sort of predetermined end date.

"But as you said, he's training and he's training well. Over the next couple of weeks we'll get him involved in terms of playing some football and see where he's at. Hopefully he hits the ground running and can help us on our course."
