CHRIS SUTTON has defended his fashion sense after an old photograph of the Celtic squad emerged online.

The Parkhead hero was quick to hit back after a question on his clobber in the snap believed to have been taken in New York.

The picture, shared on Twitter, shows members of the Celtic squad stood on the pavement in front of a Celtic flag.

Neil Lennon, Alan Thomson and Bobo Balde are among the Celtic heroes in the image, which Sutton jokingly claimed to have influenced The Backstreet Boys.

He defended his option of a white T-shirt with a tank top as he stood alongside Thompson, Jackie McNamara and Stiliyan Petrov.

Sharing the snap on Twitter, Sutton wrote: "Poor comment this.

"This was taken in New York I think and my gear was big back then in the Big Apple.

"I’ll have you know The Backstreet Boys modelled themselves on me after seeing me in this pic…look at some of the other lads dress sense other than Bobo who always looked great…"
