Vasilis Barkas: The Greek outcast was parachuted in from the cold as he made his first Premiership start of the season. He did not have a solitary save to make in the opening period except pluck one corner out of the air which he did comfortably. A virtual spectator after the break but had no chance with textbook Kane header. 7

Stephen Welsh: The Scots defender was part of a three-man defence alongside CCV and Starfelt. They were very rarely troubled by the Saints rearguard and dovetailed excellently until Chris Kane entered the fray and started causing problems. 7

Cameron Carter-Vickers: It's small wonder the clamour to sign the USA internationalist on a permanent deal has already started. The on-loan Spurs star is certainly enjoying life as a Celtic defender but will feel he could have done more to prevent Kane's counter which reduced the arrears. 7

Carl Starfelt: The Swede returned from his one-game suspension and crucially intercepted a Saints attack on 39 minutes when they could have been in on goal. It was his slack pass that was latched on to by Solomon who crossed for Kane to score and give St Johnstone a lifeline back into the match. 6

Liam Scales: The Irishman kept his place in the starting eleven and was deployed wide on the left and he was also denied a goal by the legs of Parish after a close-range effort. His crossing into the box at times was bang on the money but sometimes his general distribution lets him down. 6

Nir Bitton: The Israeli skippered the side in Callum McGregor's absence and he linked the play from middle to the front by dropping effective passes here and there. He led by example all afternoon alongside Rogic and drilled home the clinching third. It's fair to say that he really is enjoying a purple patch in his Celtic career. 8

James McCarthy: The Republic of Ireland midfielder was handed another chance to shine in the engine room and he did just that. He enjoyed a tremendous opening 45 and displayed a superb range of long and short passing and he looked impressive at times. Faded a bit after the break but can be pleased with his contribution. 7

Josip Juranovic: The Croatian occupied a wide right berth and it was his delightful cross in from the flank that saw Abada open the scoring. He also crashed in a first-half effort that forced a fine low save from Parish. He is another who loves to gallop forward at every opportunity. 7

Tom Rogic: The Wizard of Oz missed a decent chance inside five minutes when he screwed wide of the target. However, the Aussie got to grips easily with the threadbare surface and gave a masterclass display in midfield by pulling the strings. It was Rogic who played a beautiful slide-rule pass into Abada's path to claim the second goal of the game as he claimed another man of the match performance. 8

Liel Abada: The Israeli wide man ended up through the middle owing to the injury to Kyogo. He persevered brilliantly to bundle home the first goal with his head. He then steered a clinical finish home for his second goal to take his tally to 10 goals for Celtic. He was denied a treble either side of the break owing to the fingertips of Parish and was a bundle of energy all afternoon. 8

Kyogo: The Japanese bhoy returned to the first-team fold after his cup final heroics as Ange took a bit of a gamble on his fitness. He fired an early one across the face of goal but the manager's risk backfired as the striker pulled up inside 15 minutes as he indicated that he had a hamstring injury. 2

Substitutes:

Joey Dawson: Handed an unexpected first-team debut as Kyogo limped off with a hamstring injury. The teenager did what was asked of him and kept the ball moving and the play flowing whenever he could. He was tidy and efficient in his involvement in the game and denied a dream debut goal when his dink was hacked off the line. 6

Adam Montgomery: Handed a three-minute cameo in place of Scales. 1

Substitutes not used: Ryan Mullen: Ismalia Soro, Boli Bolingoli, Owen Moffat, Ben Doak.
