CELTIC reduced Rangers’ lead at the top of the cinch Premiership table to four points again with a hard-fought win over Aberdeen at Parkhead this afternoon.
On-loan Benfica winger Jota put the home team in front in the 20th minute when his shot deflected off the chest of David Bates and beyond Joe Lewis.
The Pittodrie club drew level from the penalty spot 13 minutes later after Liel Abada had tripped Bates inside his own area.
Scotland midfielder Lewis Ferguson stepped forward and slotted beyond Joe Hart to take his tally for the 2021/22 campaign to seven.
Celtic dominated the second-half – but the goal that put them 2-1 in front on the hour mark was fortuitous to say the least.
Jonny Hayes attempted to clear to safety after Lewis had saved an Abada shot – but his hoof upfield hit Callum McGregor's foot and spun into his own net.
