CHRIS SUTTON has hit back at Charlie Nicholas after the pundit slaughtered his prediction on Steven Gerrard's future at Rangers.
Sutton had tipped Gerrard to make the jump from Ibrox to Aston Villa, but Nicholas blasted his comments saying: "Is he serious?".
And after Gerrard's move to Villa was confirmed, Sutton has taken his chance to respond to Nicholas in the public domain.
In a cheeky response on Twitter Sutton quoted Nicholas' "sitting here thinking" catchphrase as he pointed to his correct prediction.
He wrote: "I was sitting there thinking I was right…"
Nicholas' comments last week in his Express column read: "I have read the likes of Chris Sutton saying that Gerrard would walk out on Rangers for Aston Villa - who are in a relegation battle. Is he serious?
"So Gerrard is going to swap winning the title with Rangers for a club that he is going to need to build up again, like he did when he first got to Ibrox?
"He would need to build that Villa squad up mentally as much as physically.
"It would be a kamikaze move for Gerrard to even think about it."
